We couldn’t have asked for a better first concert event. Standing room only, two great opening acts, great food and drink, great sound technician, and our first full-length concert set.
Members of The A Cappella Project – Philadelphia started us off with “Animal” by Neon Trees and “Something to Believe In” by Parachute. Fellow CAL group Broad Street Beat finished off the first half with a five-song set including a Pentatonix-style arrangement of Gotye’s “Someone I Used to Know” and the Tom Anderson/Peter Hollens arrangement of Gavin DeGraw’s “Not Over You”.
KeyStone sang 16 songs overall – two to introduce each opener and a full set of 14 after the break. We definitely fed off of the crowd’s excitement and enthusiasm as we performed. Their ovations were quite enthusiastic throughout, even after two hours of performing in cozy (and warm) quarters. Impeccable live sound production for the evening was provided by our good friend Roger Tharp of Red Brick Productions.
A cappella super-fan Tara Ahn was in the house and recorded nearly all of our set, which you can see on our “Fan Videos” playlist below. You can also visit Tara’s channel to see videos of our openers.
We’d like to thank Gillen and the crew at MilkBoy for letting live a cappella in their doors, our friends in Project-Philly and Broad Street Beat for sharing the stage with us, and the newly found fans who gave us such a great first concert experience.
So what’s next for KeyStone?
We are putting the finishing touches on our first single. It will be available for permanent digital download through A Cappella Records soon. And…
Your next chance to see KeyStone performing live will be on Wednesday, September 12th. We will be producing our first live webcast show on the amazing StageIt music platform. Tickets for this event are limited to 50 seats. We will share more details on this show soon.
Thanks again to everyone who came out to see us at MilkBoy. We love every last one of you.
