Potential design for the single album art
They say good things take time. We’re hoping that’s the case with our first professionally-produced single track. Principal recording of our cover of Annie Lennox’s “Erased” was completed back in February, with additional tracks recorded recently. If all goes as planned, the track will be released for permanent digital download to the entire world on July 13, 2012 – just in time for our performance in the CAL Showcase concert at VoCALnation.
Our version of “Erased” was premiered as part of our set for Harmony Sweepstakes Mid-Atlantic this past February. It’s a song off of Annie Lennox’s 2003 album Bare, and it struck a chord with us when it was first introduced to the group by our alto Jen Steinberg. For our first single, we wanted a song that was not a well-known cover but was written well, translated well to a cappella, and would begin to define our sound as a group. Most of all, we just wanted to kick some sonic booty on our first track!
The track was recorded by our own one-man bass-section-and-sound-engineer Joe Gooch. It is being edited and mixed by Clear Harmonies Productions, mastered by diovoce, and distributed digitally by A Cappella Records.
We hope that everyone will help us celebrate the release of the first single by spreading the word.
